One of the blogs I read (Kelly's Korner) is hosting a blog event every Friday where people can join in and show others different rooms in their house! I decided to join in the fun this week. We have lived in our house for a year now (as of 4/30), but most of my picture taking has been of the kids, so every Friday (or Saturday morning) for awhile, I am going to do some pictures of our house (and it gives my an excuse to pick up a little more, too, added bonus!).
AND, a lot of my family/friends have not had a chance to come to our "new" house yet, so this will give you a sneak peak too!
We love our kitchen! I love to cook (although I don't get to it as often as I should), and this kitchen is perfect for us. As a side note, if you love to cook, check out the Pioneer Woman cooking website. I have tried about 10 recipes from her site, and have loved them all, and especially this brisket recipe!
Our house does not have a formal dining room (which was fine by me, the one in our last house was converted to a playroom), so we eat in our kitchen, either in the "breakfast area" or around the island. Mostly around the island. On to the pictures!
(Maybe I should paint my white refrigerator stainless.. the house came with all other stainless appliances, which I love, but they did not throw in the matching refrgierator.. and since our white one still works, it stays! One day I have hopes of replacing it and moving the white one into the laundry room, to have an extra refrigerator, which would be oh-so-nice, especially for holidays and parties!)
We LOVE the wood ceiling in our kitchen, one of our most favorite things about it!
This is our small office off of the kitchen. Never thought a room smaller than a small bathroom could be so awesome, but we LOVE that it is next to the kitchen, and I can blog and update pictures of the little ones while I am cooking dinner. Awesome! It is all about multitasking in our house...
And lastly, after I took these pictures, Ryan asked for an apple, and I opened up the refrigerator fruit drawer to find this...
Looks like someone had already helped himself to a few "snacks".
Hope you enjoyed my kitchen tour, I am off to clean up the other rooms in my house!
Love it! Thanks for sharing. Hopefully we will be seeing your kitchen soon! :)

Great kitchen. I love it! Ironically, we have the exact same wood ceiling in our hearth room. It's one of my favorite details of our home. We have a very East Coast/Maine/cottage driven design and the wood ceiling really adds to that seaside flair. (in my opinion) Thanks for sharing. Found you thru Kelly's blog. Just got my kitchen tour post up today. Little late. Ha ha! :)

We've talked about your house a bit but those pics are phenomenal! I like the showcase/picture idea. Gives those of us in the house market soon, a nice idea of what we'd like to have of our own. I LOVE THE WOOD CEILING!!! Thanks for doing this and I hope to see it in person soon!
